about the artist
My love of all things glass started long
before I knew how to make my own. I trolled beaches looking for sea
glass, scoured craft fairs for glass bead jewelry, and scooped up little
glass treasures every time I traveled.
On a whim, I took my first glass art class in 2001 to learn a technique
called lampworking, a process of making glass beads using thin glass
rods and a torch. By 2005, I branched out to try fusing - and was
immediately hooked.With the encouragement of friends & family, I embraced my passion for glass and decided to take my art to the next level - and share it with others! Samples of my work are available on the portfolio & pics page. A native of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, I am currently based in Raleigh, NC. Many of my pieces are inspired by my love of the beach, the Chesapeake Bay, and world travel. I also find inspiration in my family and many nostalgic childhood memories.
